COVID-19 research: 3 new publications by Dr Jian Li from the IMMEI

Dr Jian Li (from our institute) published 3 new publications investigating COVID-19 disease.
In the Letter “Mental health problems among COVID-19 survivors in Wuhan, China” published in World Psychiatry Dr Jian Li and colleagues discuss mental health problems which occur as major sequelae among COVID-19 survivors in Wuhan, China.

In the retrospective, multicenter study “Development and validation of prognostic model for predicting mortality of COVID-19 patients in Wuhan, China”, which was published in Scientific Reports, Dr Jian Li and colleagues developed and validated a prognostic model for predicting poor clinical outcomes of individual patients with COVID-19 infection.

The multi-center study “Survival Factors and Metabolic Pathogenesis in Elderly Patients (≥65) With COVID-19” published in frontiers in Medicine applied a metabolic flux analysis to investigate the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 with regard to metabolism pathways. Several factors such as interferon atmotherapy and decreased activity of specific metabolic pathways were found to be associated with survival of elderly patients. Based on these findings, a survival algorithm (AlgSurv) was developed to assist the clinical stratification for elderly patients
