COVIMMUNE: COVID-19-related BMBF funding granted to Eicke Latz, Natalio Garbi (from our institute) and Michael Heneka

A consortium of scientists from the University of Bonn - led by Prof Eicke Latz (Institute of Innate Immunity), Prof Natalio Garbi (from our institute) and Prof Michael Heneka (Department of Neurodegenerative Disease and Geriatric Psychiatry and German Center for Neurodegenerative Disease (DZNE)) - has received BMBF-funding for COVID-19-focused research. Aim of COVIMMUNE is to decipher the innate and adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and to analyze the clinical course of COVID-19 as well as possible long-term consequences of COVID-19 such as pulmonary fibrosis and neurodegeneration.
